Episode Notes

In this episode, Chris shows you how to install new sub-frame connectors and both upper and lower control arms from BMR Suspension, a new electric fan and radiator combo from Flex-a-Lite, and both front and rear sway bars from Hellwig Products, on our newest project vehicle, a 1987 Ford Mustang GT. We’ve got a lot planned for this new project car, and we’re starting with suspension and under the hood. Later this season you’ll see us perform an engine swap on it! We gave it the name “Black Mamba” after one of our favorite movies, “Megamind”. Once the vehicle is finished on the show, it will return to black!

This episode features our regular segments, Partz, and Letterz. In “Partz”, Chris talks about a new Craftsman ratcheting wrenches, SeatSavers from Covercraft, new Street Comp muscle car tires from Mickey Thompson, and the website.

As always, be sure to stick around to watch our out-takes at the very end!

This episode features an original Motorz theme song by Jeremy Pritchard.

  1. I also have an 88 T-top. Any problems with your tops leaking? Have you changed out all the weatherstripping with the kit from Late model?

  2. Nope, I did not have any issues with them leaking, but I did go ahead and replace all the weatherstripping, on the T-tops as well as the rest of the car, since it was all 25 years old!

  3. it will be cool to see 99-04 mustang videos, just like this one,… but in other words, videos are really knowledgeable =D

  4. Should do a comp mutha thumper cams install video on a s197 gt so I can install mine tht are sitting inder my bed

  5. Hey great video. Have you guys ever done an MAF conversion on an 86-88 Mustang? If you have could you point me to it? If you haven’t could you? Its a project on my mind that seems difficult when I think about it.

  6. Enjoy your current modest prohibit chevy restore video lessons it is best to perform a 302 kia restore intended for project mamba will be brilliant congrats.

  7. I always make sure I disconnect the battery before I do any welding, especially something with computers onboard.

  8. Hey motor, what kind of welding ground mount is that in the video? It looked magnetic. I have never seen anything like that before. Great video!

  9. I need some help here please, when I turn my wheels all the way to the right (even left sometimes) it makes this popping sound like a clunk, I took it to Belle Tire but they’re telling me they cannot diagnose the sound. I was like well whats up? Just ignore it? and the dude said everything looks perfectly fine and too just ride out and if it gets worse to come back…? what do i do here? That noise is embarrassing.

  10. This is a really good video, shows everything that pretty much needed for these cars. I just picked up a 88 GT. What do you recommend that i do first. I planned on sub frame connectors right away. I want to do control arms but also want to do a pan hard bar. Between the control arms/panhard bar which one will be a very noticeable upgrade to make the car feel less floaty driving down the road.
