Merry Christmas, and congratulations to Mark Garety, who is having an especially good Christmas this year! I personally informed Mark today that he has won the $10,000 prize package from our 2013 Motorz Mega Craftsman Christmas giveaway! Mark works as a manufacturing engineer for Caterpillar, Inc. and lives in Illinois. Mark is married with a 15 month old daughter, and has another baby on the way!
Once Mark found out, here’s what he said:
Wow! I am stunned that I was selected for this. I entered on a whim on Christmas eve thinking that I wouldn’t get selected. I was shocked to find out I was the winner! I never imagined that I would ever win a contest like this. I drive a 2008 Mustang GT as my daily driver. At times, it serves as our family vehicle, but it is also my project car. I have done some work to it over time, but mostly small projects. The car is still mostly stock with a cloth interior. Notable upgrades include a performance tune, custom exhaust, vinyl stripes, painted valve covers, & rear lower control arms. I enjoy cleaning it up and detailing it. I am a member of a local car club, and take it out to shows whenever I can.
I do all the work on our vehicles. I have even changed the transmission and clutch in my wife’s car. I have a handful of tools, but have only bought them as needed for whatever job I’m doing at the time. There are many times when I wish I had a better tool for the job, but I have to make do with what I’ve got. Finding out that I won this contest was shocking and exciting. My wife and I immediately called family to let them know. We are very appreciative and I feel very blessed to have been selected. What a great Christmas gift!

lucky winner of the 2013 Motorz Mega Craftsman® Christmas (MMCC) giveaway valued at more
than $10,000.
“I am so excited to have won this incredible contest,” stated Garety. “I have been watching Motorz since its second season, and the show has helped me take on a number of projects. I have some basic hand tools in the garage, and usually buy just what is needed for each project. I can’t wait to have all the great Craftsman tools and accessories for my garage, along with all the other incredible products in this prize package!”
The 26-year old Garety is a Mustang enthusiast, car club member and true DIY’er who has completed a number of upgrades his family’s vehicles including a performance tuner and exhaust, rear lower control arms and valve covers. He also enjoys detailing vehicles, and is always looking forward to his next project.
“The thing I like most about Motorz is that the show is filmed in a real garage using common tools,” continued Garety. “I started watching the Mustang episodes even before I bought my car because I knew I was going to get a 2008 Mustang GT, and I already had plans for some of the projects I wanted to take on. Motorz has helped me complete some of these projects successfully, and it’s been a lot of fun.”
