reminds me of the ol’ do-it-yourself shows on the original TNN. Nice.

Love the Jeep re-build! Keep it up! Glad to see us Jeep guys have something interesting to watch on here. :)
September 5th, 2010 at 1:03 pm
This is more my speed on fixing cars and trucks which is a back to basics approach. Regardless of the budget, handy people like to do the job right and learn a few tricks to save time and money. Making the end result look good is a plus as well. Love your show.
September 5th, 2010 at 2:31 pm
may I ask why a Jeep has a Buick engine?
September 5th, 2010 at 4:15 pm
Welcome back Chris, missed your show, best of luck with the new project.
September 5th, 2010 at 6:25 pm
FINALLY!! Been waiting since you bought the CJ. Happy to see you guys getting new sponsors, you deserve it.
September 5th, 2010 at 7:51 pm
please 2010 camaro video
September 5th, 2010 at 11:22 pm
@HumorusPr4wn: Kaiser-Jeep didn’t have the resources to design their own engines. You can argue with the Buick 231, especially in hindsight.
September 5th, 2010 at 11:35 pm
@angrystanmotion but isnt Jeep chrysler? or was this before they merged,
September 6th, 2010 at 4:57 am

September 6th, 2010 at 9:23 am
@MrJohnjake Watch the next episode ;)
September 6th, 2010 at 1:48 pm
how much does 1 of these run?
September 6th, 2010 at 3:22 pm
@HumorusPr4wn In 1968, this Jeep’s model, they were Kaiser-Jeep, then after that they were bought by AMC which Chrysler then bought in 1987. Chrysler changed the AMC brand to the Eagle brand and kept the Jeep brand and origin. AMC is where Jeep got the infamous 4.0L Inline 6.
September 6th, 2010 at 8:27 pm
@JXintheZ It really is… we’re excited about working on it.
September 6th, 2010 at 8:28 pm
@reallunacy Oh yeah! Argh Argh Argh! Glad you enjoyed the episode. Thanks for watching!
September 6th, 2010 at 8:29 pm
@rebelrecycler Thanks for the feedback man! I really wish we could do weekly shows but it’s not possible at this point. There’s a lot of work that goes into each episode so we need at least 2 weeks. Hopefully that changes one day.
September 6th, 2010 at 8:29 pm
@ahjjones We’ve got more coming, and thanks watching. We are planning to do a lot with the Jeep!
September 6th, 2010 at 8:31 pm
@fixinggrace Thanks for watching… and the feedback! We’ll be sure to include as many tips as possible to save time and money.
September 6th, 2010 at 8:33 pm
@foxdmulder Thanks! We’re stoked to have season 4 kick off with an exciting new project vehicle.
September 6th, 2010 at 8:33 pm
@Robinson4643 Thank you thank you thank you! The CJ has been fun so far… a lot more to come. Having the Sears Blue Tool Crew on board is incredible, let me tell you!! I’m honored.
September 6th, 2010 at 8:34 pm
@amm1x We’ll see what we can do!
September 6th, 2010 at 8:34 pm
@AngelicTonyDawg Thanks Tony! Glad you caught them… hope you liked a few of the Home Improvement scene transitions. I hope to add many more in future episodes. MORE POWER!
September 6th, 2010 at 8:35 pm
@wak133 How much does one of what run? The Jeep?
September 7th, 2010 at 12:10 pm
I really enjoyed this episode especially the alpha transitions, you looked a little scary in that welding helmet though. Excellent work, one of the best how to’s on YouTube for sure.
September 7th, 2010 at 12:14 pm
@EricTheCarGuy OMG EricTheCarGuy in the house! I love it… thanks for checking in, bro! Love your how-to car videos too.
September 7th, 2010 at 2:24 pm
@motorztv yea the jeep, b/c i was just looking at trying to do one of these with my dad! thnks!!!
September 7th, 2010 at 2:30 pm
@wak133 This was a rare find, like I said in the video… I picked it up for $2k. Most Jeeps of this age are in horrible condition… and can’t be driven. I like to think I got a good deal!
September 7th, 2010 at 2:44 pm
I like the attention to safety but, another good reason for ear plugs when doing any hotwork is to keep hot metal shavings or, sparks out of your ears. I also insist that my employees wear them while welding. When fabricating or tearing down any equipment is is seldom possible to stay in a position to keep these hazards from affecting you without protection.
September 7th, 2010 at 3:02 pm
@savoyk Good safety tip!! Thanks for sharing. I’ll be sure to mention that one in the future.
September 8th, 2010 at 7:57 pm
i honestly love these videos. you look like you have so much fun doing all this and that really makes it enjoyable to watch them. :)

September 12th, 2010 at 8:18 pm
sweet project, and YES craftsman tools are the BEST!!! Hope you got a craftsman air compressor as well. Is that a red top optima batter? That pretty modern already :P
September 13th, 2010 at 9:37 am
@2fast4all Yes they are! I’ve been borrowing a Craftsman air compressor from a friend, but I’m happy to say my own 27gal Craftsman Professional air compressor arrives today! As for the Optima battery in the Jeep… LOL that was in there when I bought the Jeep a few months ago. One of the previous owners slapped it in :)
September 13th, 2010 at 2:21 pm

4:13 Santa clause laugh!! :) What led me to this video is a 1968 cj5 for sale here for about 3500 dollars. Thinking about buying it.. runs and drives- no lift or anything though. Mostly stock I think.. I’m just a highschool jeep-lover though, trying to get into working on vehicles. :) Any tips? good deal, bad deal?
October 28th, 2010 at 12:48 pm
@AnimaliaHolocaust Ho ho ho! LOL That’s a bit pricey but I can’t see it to give a better opinion. You might want to try talking him down on it.
October 28th, 2010 at 12:54 pm
@motorztv Thanks for the advice! I’ll ask if he’s firm, and we’ll see how it goes. :) I’ll post a video if I decide to buy it.
October 28th, 2010 at 12:56 pm
@AnimaliaHolocaust I’d love to see it… good luck!

WD40?! Dude, where’s the torch, the hammer, the PB BLASTER? WD40 is a good around the house libricant/solvent but not near the best for loosening 43 year old stubborn, rusted old bolts. Other than that, I am really enjoying this show.
June 16th, 2011 at 2:34 pm
@stusvend Thanks for watching, and the comment. We do have some PB Blaster now but you know what? We’ve had great success with WD40 too.
June 16th, 2011 at 2:34 pm
@TheCaneArtist Wow, thank you for the great feedback and for watching the show!
June 27th, 2011 at 7:09 pm
@motorztv I understand what you’re saying and absolutely no disrespect intended but this is sponsored by Sears and so you need to sell yourself. For liability reasons you’re not going to advocate torch use and you’re not going to mention a BFH as who is going to go to Sears just buy a hammer? Not saying there isn’t a use for an air impact wrench in tearing down an old jeep but a can of PB Blaster and a manual wrench gets you as far or farther.

@BrenGun1971 Thanks for the feedback and your perspective!
June 27th, 2011 at 10:12 pm
@motorztv WD-40 is good for water proofing and lubricating, but not for breaking rust free of old bolts. No wonder you broke the head off a bolt on the hood hinge, someplace that isn’t notorious for that much rust. I used to use WD-40 before I knew better and found out that it was mind over matter that had me convinced that it was working. Nowadays I use both it & PB.Still I have my hat off to you for choosing an old jeep to work on! I’m restoring a ’53 3B now and have been through this.

lose the idiotic guitar music. so tired of that crap in car shows.
February 13th, 2012 at 3:59 pm
@1impalaman What would you like to hear for background music instead?
February 13th, 2012 at 7:22 pm
@motorztv Background music is a must to help captivate the attention of the viewer. But the heavy guitar riffs are so over done…. Horsepower TV, Trucks, etc….. I’d recommend changing it up. Be original. Don’t play the same type all the time. You obviously want to appeal to a wide audience.
February 13th, 2012 at 7:50 pm
@1impalaman Thanks for the feedback, and I agree. How about some rap or disco? j/k Seriously… some mellow country music?

you put rap or hip hop junk on as bumper music and I will boycott your show so fast your head will swim in the rap-hop ghetto
February 18th, 2012 at 3:34 pm
@jessevardaman We were just kidding, of course :)
February 24th, 2012 at 5:04 am
@motorztv I actually enjoy the heavy guitar rifs. I know it’s overused but when you talk about motors, cars, etc.. that’s the most suitable music. I don’t see HipHop in there, neither techno or dubstep, classic, jazz, blues.. Maybe some bluegrass. In the end rock is the best way to go.
February 24th, 2012 at 9:08 am
@liquidrum7 Thank you–we agree! We’re looking for more royalty free music we can use for our show so that it’s not always the same. The newer episodes feature some new stuff already.

How did you have a hardtime getting parts you need? You guys realize that the Jeep CJ5 was one of the most popular vehicles of all time? Though they changed the design in the 70′s you can buy pretty much the whole fucking Jeep on J.C. Whitney! What the hell is with all of your chink made tools? Buy American (Yes you can still find them pay more for them so you should). I have a 40 year old drill that still runs better then the chinese made shit these days. Fuck foreign products especially cars.

I’m getting ready to restore a 65 tuxedo park mark IV version of this. I wish mine had the dauntless V6 but i have a no. matching original and have been urged to keep it hurricane powered. I LOVE this little jeep.
