Episode Notes
In this episode we take a break from our step-by-step format and take a close look at vehicle wraps with the help of one of the pioneers of vehicle wraps, Troy Downey from APE Wraps. All your questions will be answered, including the differences between wraps and paint, how long they last, where to get one, how much they cost, how to care for a wrap, and so much more. You’ll also see our Motorz project truck (a 2005 Ford F-150 SuperCrew) get wrapped from start to finish by Troy and his son, Tommy Downey. To top it all off, Billet Badges made custom one-of-a-kind Craftsman emblems for the sides and tailgate of the truck!
This episode features our regular segments, Partz and Letterz. In “Partz”, Chris talks about a Craftsman heat gun, AMP Research Powersteps, the Fluidampr harmonic damper, and the “2 Go Keyless” Automotive product line from Digital Guard Dawg.
As always, be sure to stick around to watch our out-takes at the very end!
Music
This episode features an original Motorz theme song by Jeremy Pritchard.
ive always wanted to clear bra wrap the front of my subaru, just curious on how the stone chips and other road grim clings to it and how easy it is to clean off

Nice Vid Chris! i love how the show has grown up till the point where you have a lot of sponsors, viewers and everything! Felicidades Chris! saludos!
We are averaging about a 4-5 week production schedule… but hoping to improve that over the coming months. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much! It’s definitely nice to have sponsors after all the hard work, and what’s great is nothing has really changed. We have as much fun now as we did 4 years ago!
Thanks for this video! My step dad hired a guy to print a wrap for our UMP Dirt sportman. It is being printed right now as I am typing this!:)
Very cool! I bet you can’t wait to get it on there!
Two grand for 3-5 years? I don’t think so!

It’s not that bad, paint jobs are WAYYYYY more expensive and time consuming.

FINALLY you’re back
Thanks! We’re back every month though :)
It is a good business to get involved in, especially since the materials and printers are getting so good. Installers are needed throughout the world!

chris can you put the keyless entry on your f150
Wow! That stuff is cool but, based on what the owner stated in the video it does not seem like u get alot of return on your investment. Only 3 to 5 years before that wrap begins to wear out. Hmmmm! Wouldn’t it b more cost effective & more practical to get a 4k paint job that would last 20 years with proper care?

Anyone know of any companies willing to pay you monthly to advertise their wrap on your car?

most wont on a car, but a truck they will. there’s a online dir. somewhere where companies advertise that they want a place to advertise on, cant remember the name though
no, because then it will cost $4k or so if you want a new ad put on, and a lot of you wanna change stuff. 3-5 years is fine, and wraps are more popular because of the ease and lighter weight.
5 years is a long time, and its for advertising mainly, a company will change their address/website etc in that time and also their company styling.
