There are beautiful cars and then there are really beautiful cars. This month’s Ridez winner is the latter. Michael Bacon’s 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 looks every inch the raw muscle car it was when it came out of the factory. However, Bacon is not one to settle for a standard Ford. With a massive set of modifications, he set out to create a better Mustang than the original. Having watched every Motorz episode, including the numerous ones featuring the Mustang, he got to work on a staggering amount of engine, interior, suspension and body upgrades.
Engine highlights include an Edelbrock Performer dual plane intake, Hedman full length ceramic headers, Mr. Gasket mechanical fuel pump, a host of Ford Motorsport parts and much more. To keep these additional ponies in line, a beefed up suspension featuring new swaybars, springs, tie rods and shocks help to ensure everything stays tidy in the corners. A number of interior mods transform the Mach 1 into a 21st century machine with Kenwood, Pioneer and Blaupunkt components adding a much needed sound-system improvement.Exterior changes include chin and rear spoilers, a ram air shaker hood scoop, LED exterior lights, 15×7 Magnum 500 wheels and considerably more.
