Advanced Flow Engineering (aFe)
Episode Notes
These two products help improve both horsepower and torque, and are relatively easy to install.
aFe’s cold air intake kit gives you great sound, plus a boost in torque and horsepower. The electric fan from Flex-A-Lite also helps increase torque and horsepower, and takes a huge load off your engine by eliminating the cooling fan. This results in less load on your engine, and as a result improves fuel economy. We noticed an extra 2-3 MPG on this truck as a result of installing the Flex-A-Lite electric fan.
Also in this episode we feature the 2nd installation of this season’s Letterz segment, and the return of the Partz segment.

Music
This episode features music from COLDWEST. “Snakeskinner”, “Ignition”, and a custom song for the Motorz Intro.
Where did you buy the fan kit? Also, do you know the part # off hand? I have a 05 with the 4.6L and I was looking to do this to my truck.
Does anyone know the Flex-A-Lite part #? I want to buy that one he used but I have had not luck finding it.
I love the show, but im disappointed I never see any 87 to 96 model trucks. Like mods to the old 300 inline. Thats one of the best motors ford ever put out. There are lots of things you guys could put on your show. Like the E fan mod, and converting to mass air system.
I want your job.
Question for ya If I want to run off a switch is the order: Battery, inline fuse , switch , fan , ground ? Or ..
Maybe try to space out the videos. Kinda annoying when your blowing up my sub box in one day.
Sorry about that, but we have to get all our videos back up so the newest episodes can get back online here. I apologize for the inconvenience. Hopefully they’ll all be done by Tuesday.

I’d like a vid or some results info of what kind of improvement this made. Got an expedition and wanted to try this if it didn’t cost me to much for not enough

An one more thing. What is the trigger for these fans to engage? I know that you hook it up to the a/c compressor, but what if you’re not running the compressor? What triggers it to run then

The thermostat on the control module for the fans. It’s just stealing power from the compressor, it’s not dependent on it being on.

What’s the part number for the fan used in this installation? Also did the fan controller come with it or was it separate? And if separate, what’s the part number for that? Thanks.
Is it best to keep a belt driven fan or is it better for the electric fan?
