David Semel’s ride is nothing less than a mix and match of ‘Vette generations. The remarkable story of his vehicle began as a 1958 Corvette body than sat abandoned in a field for twenty years. David recovered it but instead of throwing it on a ’58 chassis, he decided to go modern with a 2000 C5 suspension setup. Considering the massive difference in generations, a custom frame had to be built by Southern Street Rods and Customs.
Both the front and rear suspension is composed of C5 QA1 coilovers with standard C5 brakes to match. In keeping with the rest of the car, an LS2 small-block V8 is aided by a Griffin radiator, custom exhaust system and six-speed Borg-Warner transmission. Speartech PCM and custom harnesses take care of engine management responsibilities. The interior continues the trend of classic looks with modern conveniences. Custom fabrication was the name of the game as the vehicle had literally no interior when David took in the ’58 frame.
