Most of us have heard the term “cherry” to describe a car. Jim Reavis, from Edgewater, Maryland, has a ride that truly redefines the description. His lime green 1966 Dodge Coronet is a truly stunning example of a perfectly executed build. In only eight months, Jim took the car from a work in progress to a true dream machine. The engine, a ’74 RB block 440, features an Edelbrock Performer 440 intake, Holley 750 Double Pumper carb and all new pulleys on the front of the engine. Additionally, a Holley high volume fuel pump and braided fuel lines along with MSD 8.5 mm ignition wires keep the Dodge’s explosive potential well fed. The list of total engine upgrades is impressive to say the least, this is only a small sampling.
Keeping that firepower under control is an 8 3/4 rear end with 3.55 gears and a spool. The slightly modified 727 transmission, with a reverse manual valve body, is commanded by a B&M shifter. With the origional bumpers in poor shape, Jim picked up factory rechromes for the front and rear. A new black and green interior features a custom dash panel with AutoMeter gauges, all wired to one 11 pin plug. This sounds impressive but it cannot begin to describe how phenomenal this Coronet truly has become. Check out the photos below!
