Welcome to the Motorz Newsletter!

This is always an exciting time of the year as we move out of the dark and dreary Winter months and sail into the beautiful Spring and Summer seasons. The great weather typically means that we pick up on those projects we couldn’t complete during the Winter or chose to wait until we could complete them outside in the sunshine!

As always, the Motorz shop has been very busy. We’ve had quite a lot going on since we last spoke and we’re as excited as ever to bring you the latest edition of our newsletter.

We recently debuted season 5 episode 6 which tells you everything you need to know about vehicle wraps. We also have a new Craftsman tool giveaway, our Ridez contest, a second round of our Viewers Choice Awards featuring wheel manufacturers, a handful of great tool posts on our blog, and more! We’re also feverishly working on more episodes, so stay tuned!

As always, we love to hear your feedback about anything having to do with the show, so please don’t hesitate to contact us on Facebook, Twitter, or our website!

Until next month,
Chris Duke

PerformanceParts.com Comes on as New Sponsor

Late last week we announced that we had completed a new sponsorship with PerformanceParts.com! Chris was quoted as saying “With PerformanceParts.com, we’re not waiting for parts we need to complete our builds, and they also provide their experience and expertise in helping to select what parts to use. More importantly to our audience, the very same service and selection is available to them.”

For more on this great partnership, check out the press release.

Cue the Tim the Tool Man grunt… we had a few tool posts recently, outlining some of the tools and other parts featured on the show! Want to learn more about something that was featured on the show? Give us a shout and we’ll make sure we move your suggestions to the top of the list!

Welcome to the Motorz Newsletter!

Hello Motorz fans!

There has been a TON going on at the Motorz website. This newsletter is jam packed with content, as our schedule prevented us from getting out a March Newsletter last month. For that, you have our sincerest and deepest apologies, we hope that doesn’t happen again! Busy is good though they say!

We’ve been filming like crazy in the Motorz Studio, completing Season 5 Episode 5 where we continue our engine rebuild series with a top end episode, we broke news about my fourth appearance in the Sears catalog, had numerous great posts on our Motorz Blog, showed you some teaser shots of our Project F-150 that will be featured on Episode 6, bring you another round of our Ridez contest and the Tool Giveaway and even introduced an exciting new feature on our Facebook page called the Motorz Viewer’s Choice Awards and so much more!

As always, we love to hear your feedback about anything having to do with the show, so please don’t hesitate to contact us on Facebook, Twitter, or our website!

Until next month,
Chris Duke

By now, everyone is already aware that each month we select one lucky winner who’s submitted photos of their ride for our Ridez Contest to receive a custom Covercraft Industries car cover. The winner for February 2012 was Manuel Serrano of Salinas, CA and his 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS!

Project F-150 Teaser!

It’s not often that let you see what’s upcoming on the show – but when we do, we like to go big! The Motorz Project F-150 has undergone some serious changes since it last appeared on the show and will continue to be a focus in some upcoming episodes.

See the post, here.

Caption This!

In the last Newsletter, we reminded you that we have a very popular daily feature on our Facebook Page called “Caption This” where we post a silly photo and ask for our viewers to come up with a fun caption.

As an ironic tie in, Motorz has completed the closed captioning for every episode of Motorz as required by the FCC in order to be shown on air. Coincidentally, YouTube has a magical feature that will translate any captioned video into dozens of other languages on-the-fly, so the episodes on the Motorz YouTube Channel should all be updated in the near future. Read the announcement for more information and for some examples of the captions in other languages!

Chris’s 4th Sears Catalog Appearance

Sears and Craftsman have been amazing sponsors to work with, without them the show would be next to impossible to put on. As the Motorz host and being a Sears Tool Advisor, Chris has achieved celebrity-like status over the years. On April 15th, Chris will be making his fourth appearance in the Sears Catalog, this time on five different pages!

As the exclusive automotive tool advisor for Sears catalogs, he opens the Mechanics Tools section (p. 65), the Automotive Specialty section (p. 102), and the Air Tools section (p. 118). He’s also featured on the inside cover (page 2)!

The catalog will be available in print and online, so be sure to check out the announcement on the blog which will be updated once it becomes available online!

S05E05 Top End Rebuild, Now Online!

In the latest episode, Chris shows you how to rebuild the top end of our block using a cam shaft and roller lifters from Crower Cams, plus heads and intake manifold from Dart Machinery. He walks you through all the steps involved and goes over all of the tools required for installation – while providing tips for ease of installation along the way.

Missing YouTube Videos

Earlier this week, while fixing an audio error after uploading the latest episode, a catastrophic error occurred and four years worth of video uploads were lost. Disheartened, we painstakingly re-uploaded every video that was lost. While we lost all of our comments, views and links to each video – there are positives.

We were able to upload the videos in their complete form, as some videos we had to upload in parts as we were not a YouTube partner at the time. We were also able to upload each video at the highest quality possible and enable closed captioning at the same time. We need our fans help to restore our YouTube Channel to it glory. Please Rate, Comment and Subscribe any chance you can get.

You can read more about this unfortunate event, in horrifying detail over on our blog.

Speak to you all next month!
