Matt Rigney over at MustangBlog.com did a nice write-up of our premiere episode this past weekend, and it still shows up on their home page. In the article, Matt wrote:

“The folks at Motorz TV are kicking off a third season of web videos with an episode right up our readers alley.  Their premiere episode features long time host Chris Duke installing several aftermarket appearance parts to the engine bay and the exterior of a Grabber Orange S197 Mustang GT… …In the video Mr. Duke takes you step-by-step on how to install these appearance upgrades using basic hand tools commonly found around any weekend warriors garage.”

Thanks, Matt! Please check out the full article here:

Yesterday I put out a call for someone to help manage the growing Motorz forums area. I was overwhelmed with the immediate response! I couldn’t believe so many great candidates stepped forward! A few of them stood out, and they are now in charge of the forums!

Here they are, with a brief bio — these guys are true enthusiasts and well experienced when it comes to online forums! The crew page has also been updated!

Jason Gillmore Named Technical Director

For the past two seasons of Motorz I’ve been, for the most part, working exclusively with Jason Coe (Associate Producer, Camera) while filming the show. Now that the show is on TV, the amount of work has escalated to a new all-time high. I needed some more help!

When it was an Internet-only show, the filming and schedule was much more relaxed. We tried to keep to our schedule of pushing out a new episode every two weeks, but if we couldn’t for some reason (health, vacations, etc.) it really wasn’t a huge deal. Now that I have hard deadlines to produce a new episode every week, and the episodes themselves require 2-3 times the production due to the half-hour show length, things needed to go a lot smoother.

Featured Products at Website Improved

The episode pages at the MOTORZ website now better highlight the products used. Previously, the information was buried in the show’s notes further down the page, or did not exist at all.

Now the column on the right-side of the page features a photo, a brief description, and of course a link to visit a website for more information (you can also click the photo). Any other special information (such as discount promo codes) are also displayed there. For each product featured, a new box will appear.

You can check this out by going to the recent episode, Ford Mustang Makeover, or even an older one such as this STILLEN brake episode.

Several other recent episodes have been updated as well, and over time all the episodes will be updated to highlight the products, tools, and any services used during the filming of the episode.

This area will also display products featured in the PARTZ segment of the show!

Also check out the all-new PARTZ page which shows all the products in one place!

How has Motorz helped you? We want to know!

Over the past two seasons of Motorz we have received some great feedback from viewers about how the show has helped them out. It’s so great to receive viewer feedback on a daily basis! But I have to ask for more! :)

As you know, sponsors keep the show alive and help increase my ability to market it in other venues, as well as increase distribution to more places. The show is still young, and I still have a lot more convincing to do to bring on more sponsors. That’s where you can help!

If the show has helped you in any way, specifically regarding the purchase of the products mentioned on the show, please share that with us! Just a few short sentences is all it takes, really.

If you could mention the episode you saw, and the product you purchased based on that episode, even where you bought it, that would be perfect! It can be anything–a tool, a product we installed, or even a service we may have mentioned. Anything you can contribute will make a world of difference! I’m looking for specific examples.

Submit yours here!

Here are a few great examples of ones I’ve received recently:

“Your vid on the T-Rex grill install helped a lot i just installed a black one and it looks great thanks again”
-Steve

“I saw your video on the sequential tail light install on your Mustang and decided to buy a set for my Foose. I never heard of the American Muscle website, but now that I do I bought my set from there.”

Stacey David’s Gearz at the Motorz website?

Motorz? Gearz? What’s with all these awesome car shows that end in the letter Z?

About 5 years ago at the SEMA Show (back when I was doing the magazine publishing thing) I had the exciting opportunity to meet a legend in our industry, Stacey David, who at the time was the host of Trucks!

Then, about two years ago I had another run-in with Mr. David when I had the chance to interview him for one of my other automotive websites, Truckblog. He was just getting his new show, Gearz, off the ground. I wanted to know more about his life, his shows, and more importantly get some advice from a seasoned TV host and producer since I, myself, was just getting started with my own TV show (and admittedly, I had no idea in hell what I was doing). My show at the time was called “Truckblog TV”. Some of his advice was critical in Motorz’s infancy, and whether he knows it or not, I have miles of respect for Stacey. Few people take the time out of their busy schedule for interviews, let alone provide invaluable advice.

When I re-branded my show as “Motorz”, I didn’t intentionally copy the Z in “Gearz”, as I have created many websites and projects in the past with odd-spelling names when the domain name I really wanted wasn’t available (such as Truck Hownd). In retrospect, perhaps it was subliminally intentional–after all I consider him one of my role models. That fact has been stated on my bio page since the first day this website went online.

So this morning I was thrilled, honored, and humbled when I received this video that Stacey David put together to promote his new season premiere on SPEED this weekend. It’s an awesome shout-out to MOTORZ viewers to watch Gearz on Saturday at 9AM (EST) before they tune in to watch Motorz on Sunday at 8am (EST). Our shows compliment each other quite well, I think, and hopefully one day I can convince Stacey to stop by the set of Motorz to teach us all a few new things on my show!

Motorz Season 3 Premieres Online

The season 3 premiere of Motorz TV is now online! Check out the first episode of the new season, Ford Mustang Makeover, where we pimp out a near-stock grabber orange 2008 Ford Mustang GT!

This episode premiered on cable and satellite television earlier this month, February 7th.

While the televised version of Motorz is broadcast weekly, the Internet side will be published only bi-weekly. The reason for this is so that by the end of the season (June 27th), the Internet will be synced up with the television side, as the TV side shows re-runs (and re-runs don’t make sense online!)

Be sure to read the episode notes for this episode to learn more, and to get a discount on your next purchase from AmericanMuscle.com!
