Episode Notes
In this 2nd episode of our 5th season we are introducing something new, or rather someone new! It’s our new Motorz Girl, Olivia Korte. You may have already read about her from our announcement last week. We’d love to hear your feedback about her and we promise you’ll start seeing more of her in upcoming episodes! For more information read that announcement or check out www.motorzgirl.com!
Have you ever wondered what happens when you drop your engine block off at a machine shop? In this episode, Chris meets up with Britt Bostick, the owner of NuTech Engine Systems, to find out exactly what happens. We couldn’t film this episode in our own studio because of all the specialized precision equipment that is needed, so we went on location to show you how it’s done by a professional.
This episode also has our regular segments, Partz and Letterz. In “Partz”, Chris talks about a new tool from Craftsman to help you with those long bolts, introduces an innovative new vehicle programmer/tuner from SCT that works via Bluetooth with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, and he shows you a cool retro body accent piece for your Mustang from 3dCarbon! Be sure to catch Letterz, too, as we have a special shout-out to one of our viewers!
Music
This episode features an original Motorz theme song by Jeremy Pritchard.

I like the tuner. They have had options like this for a while now, though I don’t think they actually had a tuning option. Search Torque on the Android Market to see what I currently have. Of course right after I got the app I got booted back to using a ’92.
October 21st, 2011 at 2:56 pm
Cute girl
October 21st, 2011 at 3:02 pm
You showed them installing the torque plate, but then it was gone when they started honing? What gives?
October 21st, 2011 at 3:10 pm
@CyFi6 Good eye! Some clips are out of sequence there, but if you do look close you can find one of those has the torque plate :)
October 21st, 2011 at 4:13 pm
Chris don’t be teasing me with more mustang parts unless you’re gonna make another episode. Heck this show is the reason I bought a mustang with all the aftermarket parts you’ve showed. lol. Keep up the great work. Always love your teams hard work.
October 21st, 2011 at 4:15 pm
@Terreos Thanks man! We are definitely going to have more Mustang stuff… right now we’re focusing on the Chevy 350 rebuild. We’ve done quite a lot to our Mustangs over the past few seasons… what else is left to do? LOL
October 21st, 2011 at 4:20 pm
@Terreos Well you’re team has done superchargers and nitrous oxide. So theoretically you can still do a turbocharger or just more engine builds for camshafts, heads, or forged internals. But, you’re chevy 350 videos give alot of insight on such things. So I say go turbo!
October 21st, 2011 at 5:45 pm
You’re going to drop this in a foxbody right? Great video but the ads are so blatent. Brings it down a notch for me, but if that’s who’s paying the bills….

@d3v3ouzm1ndz We operate with very limited resources and it takes 3-4 weeks to produce new episodes at this level of quality. Thank you for your patience. We hope to be able to produce them faster in the future once we have more resources.

October 22nd, 2011 at 11:52 am
I am curious to see how the cost of the rebuilt compares to the cost of a crate motor. That machining looked expensive.

February 28th, 2012 at 6:00 pm
Similar to and about as informative as the “PowerBlock” on Spike tv. 10 minutes of actual content and almost 14 minutes of commercials and advertisements. The girl was pretty though :)

March 16th, 2012 at 11:30 pm
thumbs if your in uti!!!! and learning…
March 24th, 2012 at 11:52 am
Some guys were just born with mechanical ability that they developed over time without ever stepping one foot in a UTI type school, Not that it’s bad, guys like Bill Grumpy Jenkins and many many others but todays N2o motors and turbo charged drag race engines require electronics galore but again if you have a working knowledge of whats needed and when the process is still the same .. much trial and hope for not much error .. nice Vid ..
March 26th, 2012 at 10:53 pm
have u started to assemble this engine yet???
March 26th, 2012 at 11:07 pm
Yes, in fact the remaining episodes that were deleted are being uploaded right now which include the bottom and top end rebuild episodes. We have one more in post-production after those two.

if you bore a cylinder head. how do you know what size head gasket you should use? also i heard that if you want to put extra hp in it then you should deck the surface where the gasket meets the engine. is this all true?
June 29th, 2012 at 10:28 pm
i like that girl
August 3rd, 2012 at 11:28 am
I love how all the machines are sexual in their motion.
August 7th, 2012 at 10:43 am
I hate it when they talk next to clean machines, I take them as amateurs, machines should never be clean, or the work has not been done.
August 7th, 2012 at 10:44 am
Surprise! Look down! Oh that are man titties :)

Hi, i have a 1973 IKA-Renault Torino TS with a 3.77 Liter, inline 6 engine. I would like to change the sparkplugs for some E3′s, but I am located in Argentina. Do you know if it is possible to get them here? Also, if you have any tips on how to upgrade the performance on this car it would be really appreciated. Keep up the videos, love the show.
October 4th, 2012 at 9:32 pm
It’s kind of hard to understand this without pre-knowledge of the terms lol
October 9th, 2012 at 9:18 pm
Great video. But for some reason, I couldn’t get pass the first 5 secs.
October 26th, 2012 at 8:08 am
2:46 any one can give us a technical explanation for how battery economy could be affected by a spark plugs??
October 29th, 2012 at 9:45 pm
Would it be more economical to buy and rebuild an old engine like you guys have OR should I just purchase an engine that is ready to go? Thanks like the show.

What is this device green?
November 18th, 2012 at 10:45 am
How much does it usually cost to have a block machined?
November 19th, 2012 at 3:26 pm
Just a note on the remote start systems. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT circumvent the neutral safety switch setup during the install. Just had a local mechanic almost killed by one that a customer had installed improperly and he hit the remote start button during some work and it pinned him against a wall in his shop. There’s a reason those safety features are there, and an improper install may injure or kill you or someone else.
