Wow that’s a lot of stuff! I clay bar my truck all the time. It’s sooo worth it!!
October 26th, 2010 at 9:58 am
We need a video on how to properly clean the engine bay!
October 26th, 2010 at 10:00 am
Very nice episode Chris.
October 26th, 2010 at 10:02 am

October 26th, 2010 at 10:05 am
@foxdmulder It turned out great, considering it spends its life outside all the time!
October 26th, 2010 at 10:05 am
@BlackShadowBM Not a bad idea! We’ll keep this in mind…. thanks!
October 26th, 2010 at 10:05 am
@fordtruck0 It’s another time consuming step in the whole process, but it is definitely worth it!
October 26th, 2010 at 10:06 am
@LatinFG2 Thanks for watching and commenting!
October 26th, 2010 at 10:06 am
@psyfertech No argument there! We were impressed with everything we used!
October 26th, 2010 at 10:40 am
@motorztv sweet, im thinking of getting that clay bar kit because i hear good things about it and there are particles and spots in my paint that dont come out when i wax it so hopefully that will do the trick
October 26th, 2010 at 10:48 am
@psyfertech The clay bar removes microscopic particles, so if you have spots in your paint I don’t think it will remove them. It doesn’t hurt to try though!
October 26th, 2010 at 11:06 am
nice good job
October 26th, 2010 at 11:07 am
@deius01 Thank you!!
October 26th, 2010 at 11:43 am
carlos ftw!
October 26th, 2010 at 11:43 am
@rlpimpin23 Who’s Carlos?
October 26th, 2010 at 11:59 am
Chris you’re the man! I knew alot about detailing but you’ve shown me so much more. I’m going to try that clay bar. and that carnauba was is whats up. That california car duster is perfect for me because I live on a dirt road. Thanks man!
October 26th, 2010 at 12:00 pm
@AnythingWeThinkOf No problem… glad you got something out of it that you didn’t already know!
October 26th, 2010 at 12:36 pm
Lol, “Use a clean bonnet.” Some English person was probably very confused by that. “I though I was already cleaning the bonnet?”
October 26th, 2010 at 12:37 pm
@asyoulikeitvideos LOL! good point… waxing your bonnet with a bonnet!
October 26th, 2010 at 1:46 pm
What would be nice on the show is a before and after shot :)
October 26th, 2010 at 2:09 pm
@t1mmy13 There are before & after scenes shot throughout the episode.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:28 pm
I think hand polish will not get you anywhere with these deep scratches.
October 26th, 2010 at 3:30 pm
@TRDSpecs The scratch remover does wonders, but you’re right… if you have your work cut out for you, use an orbital polisher.
October 26th, 2010 at 5:33 pm
well you gotta’ need a hell of a lot of towels for this project =D
October 26th, 2010 at 5:39 pm
@N00kyn True, but you don’t have to do *everything* I demonstrated in this episode. Recycle those towels!
October 26th, 2010 at 5:42 pm
Hey, I got power balls too! This reminds me of that axe commercial (the ball washer). Another great video brother!
October 26th, 2010 at 5:43 pm
@FordTruckClubTV Thank you, thank you…. comment greatly appreciated!
October 26th, 2010 at 7:48 pm
how fast have you gone in your project mustang?
October 26th, 2010 at 7:50 pm
@op665 Now that the grabber orange one has a supercharger, a lot faster!
October 26th, 2010 at 8:28 pm
Whos better? Mothers or Meguiars?
October 26th, 2010 at 11:17 pm
@Scharfschutze13 Mothers cuz they sponsor Motorz
October 26th, 2010 at 11:53 pm
Adam’s Polishes FTW!
October 27th, 2010 at 3:35 am
production makes the best car detailing stuff you can get..
October 27th, 2010 at 5:50 am
Are “Mothers” and “Black Magic Shine” the same company?
October 27th, 2010 at 7:32 pm
I’m so glad you made this video. I know zip about detailing except for the headlight restoration. That Claybar though looks like it would be a very time consuming pain in the a** if you had to do the entire surface of the vehicle like that. My arm would feel like a sore wet noodle after that.
October 27th, 2010 at 7:37 pm
@timecrisisexpert270 I don’t believe they’re related.
October 27th, 2010 at 7:38 pm
@Michiganborn1969 We tried to hit everything int he episode… and the clay bar step goes really quick, actually.
October 28th, 2010 at 1:23 am
seriously, how many clean towels do you have :O
October 28th, 2010 at 1:45 am
@denno021 I keep a good stock of them here, and old ones get recycled for cleanup or taken to the laundromat for re-use. Do you want an actual count? LOL
October 28th, 2010 at 1:51 am
@motorztv lol, no a count isn’t necessary. Thanks for actually replying to my stupid comment though :P
October 28th, 2010 at 1:57 am
@denno021 No problem… I enjoy every comment that is funny, positive, or constructive. The rest just get deleted :)
October 28th, 2010 at 9:41 am
Could the headlight restorer can also be used on plexiglass motorcycle windshields? It sometimes gets a little unnerving when riding my bike after dark and on comming headlights makes its harder to see though my windshield b/c of all the tiny little spider web scratches that developed over the years.
October 28th, 2010 at 9:44 am
@Michiganborn1969 Yes, of course you can use it on your motorcycle windshield. I would imagine any plastic surface will do!
October 28th, 2010 at 9:47 am
Great! Thank you Chris. I’m only familiar with the 3-M brand of the headlight buffing compound but the next time I’m in my local Sacamento area parts store I will look for the Mothers brand.
October 29th, 2010 at 9:20 am

October 29th, 2010 at 9:22 am

November 5th, 2010 at 6:36 am
Buying all these cleaning products… Would it just be cheaper to get a detail at a body shop?
November 6th, 2010 at 6:03 pm
@ThaBR33D No. Once you have all the products it doesn’t cost you anything but time!
November 8th, 2010 at 11:16 pm

December 29th, 2010 at 12:16 pm

April 7th, 2011 at 3:58 pm

April 8th, 2011 at 10:58 am

I’ve been detailing cars for six years now, and the only thing I don’t touch is the engine compartment. I just don’t want to be held responsible for any damages that I may cause by cleaning that area. I know some people cover the distributor and the alternator, but that still doesn’t work sometimes. With some of those high-tech cars like Lexus or BMW there are a ton of electronic components under the hood. So, if you get some water in them they would be very expensive to fix.

I stopped watching this half way through. I felt like I was watching a long mother commercial that would not end. It turned me off. Use some tact next time.
March 26th, 2012 at 9:07 pm
Mothers obviously provided all the product, but we felt it was a great episode, showing people how to use most of their detailing products. We had a lot of fun filming it, too!

Good episode, I just wish you guys would’ve washed the entire Jeep and showed the before and afters so that we can see the difference the work/product makes. Just a nitpick, though. On a side note, I like how you actually respond to comments on youtube. :)

I have to say I really enjoy your show, but I wouldn’t suggest waxing a car with a random orbital. The problem with using a random orbital to wax is that if there are any contaminants on the pad, it can scratch and damage the paint and leave swirl marks. I have always found that the best way to apply wax is always by hand. However, random orbitals are great for a final buffing of the car as long as it’s a clean, thick, microfiber pad. Once again, love the show, you’re great.

How well does that Mothers Chrome Polish really work? I have been trying to bring the bumpers on my 89 Jeep Grand Wagoneer back to their original shine and I’ve tried metal polish but no such luck. It’s possible they aren’t chrome at all and are polished aluminum. What’s the difference and what product would you recommend? Great show btw..
April 11th, 2013 at 8:43 am
own that model of jeep and have restored the headlights and can tell it would take at least 2 sets of those pads to do a good job.
