Sears invited me to be a guest blogger at their site, so of course I jumped at the opportunity. Here’s an excerpt:

As a father of two girls, Father’s Day is always a special day for me. Of course there’s always the funny hand-drawn cards from my kids and the new shirt from my wife, but it’s always a unique day out of the year when my normal daily routine of life is improved with focusing on the one thing that matters most: my family. There’s no job to worry about, no need to wake up at the crack of dawn, and my only “honey do” for the day is to fire up the grill and burn some burgers.

I’m incredibly blessed to be able to work out of my own home, producing a DIY automotive TV show in my two car home garage-turned TV studio. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t times when my film crew and I are locked in there in order to finish an episode for hours on end. I try to include my kids even in these situations, whether it be tossing my 4 year old daughter in the bed of the truck to “re-organize” my sockets, or having my 15 year old daughter help me run through a script (or give my camera guy a hard time!)
