Just finished installing a new head unit in my ’06 F150. I used your video as a guide on how to do it. I’m glad I saw your video, but you made it look deceptively easy. “Popping” the “surround” out was NOWHERE near as easy as you showed it to be. I nearly snapped the thing in half, but took my time and finally got it out (barely). You also skipped where you wire the harness to the radio, which took me forever. Otherwise, thanks because I probably wouldn’t have tried it without your video.

Question: How did you power up the alpine sirius adapter? did you hook it up straight to the battery or did you connect it off the wire that is powering the head unit?
September 1st, 2010 at 9:31 pm
It gets its power from the Alpine HU so there’s only one power source needed!

@philly224life If you have a double DIN stock stereo, I’m sure you can get a dash kit for it, probably from Crutchfield.

did the back up cam come with the unit? if not what brand is it? i have a jvc in my f150 and want to set up the back up cam the same way you did but am having trouble finding one similar
June 5th, 2011 at 11:11 am
the backup cam did not come with the head unit. It was an eBay purchase. I don’t recall what brand it was, but any of them should work just fine.
